Holiday Inn Manitowoc will hold the fourth annual Toast of the Town Charity Gala, a 1920s-themed event on September 15, 2006 from 7 in the evening until midnight to benefit the Holy Family Memorial. Theh events will feature casino games with the tops winners earning prizes.
Holiday Inn Manitowoc will hold a 1920s-themed event on September 15, 2006 from 7 in the evening until midnight to benefit the Holy Family Memorial who organized it’’s fourth annual Toast of the Town Charity Gala.

“Flappers, Spats and Finery,” Peggy Pitz, Gala Events coordinator found these expressions as she was researching 1920′’s slang to help add a authentic flavor to the evening and might as well be used in inviting people.

Guests will be welcomed with a red Carpet entrance at the semi formal event. Black and tie and 1920′’s dress are optional.

There will be a vintage automobile on display including a 1928 Model A canvas-topped tan sports coupe with a rumble seat and a dark blue 1929 model A Sedan owned by Kay and Kevin Sonnenburg of Manitowoc who will also offer rides to and from the event. Ride costs will go to the cause.

Also to set the mood there will be dancing and music from the Undercover Band, a well-known Chicago Group. The Undercover Band will play a wide range of styles that includes swing, Motown, disco,’’80s,’’90s and today’’s top hits. Pianist Marilynn Dunlap will also provide live music.

Local eating establishments also will offer foods in different choices including everything from sea scallops to grilled lamb, roasted tenderloin and pan-fried crab cakes.

In courtesy of Vegas On Wheels, a Milwaukee casino party organizer, participants will be given a chance to play blackjack, roulette, craps and poker using “funny Money” where the three biggest money winners will receive a gift.

The event will also feature a raffle draw at 11 p.m. with prizes including, a trip to Las Vegas from Prairie States Enterprises and David’’s House of Travel; a 14-karat white gold diamond “O” necklace from Rummele’’s Jewelry and Gifts and a ladies Lassale curved sapphire crystal, sapphire crown watch from Boelter’’s Jewelers. Tickets are now being sold but holders need not to be at the event to win.

Oral and silent auctions will also be featured in this event. The oral auction features five items, which includes a Chicago “gangster tour” and a Kathie Zutz original pastel painting while silent auction features 30 items that includes spa packages, large electronics and dinner and entertainment packages.
